About Prateek
A good birth chart reading should leave you able to look at your own chart and recognise what is in it. That is how Prateek approaches his sessions on HealAstro. He is a Vedic astrologer who consults in Hindi, Marathi and English, and he walks you through your chart step by step, so the reading makes sense rather than sounding like a list of predictions.
Prateek's sessions suit people who are curious about astrology as well as those with a specific problem. He starts with how to read the chart itself, then moves on to the planets, houses and dashas that matter most for your question, and finishes with practical guidance on timing and remedies.
What you can ask Prateek about
- Your chart, explained: ascendant, Moon sign, key planets and what they say about you.
- Career: suitable fields and the right periods for change or growth.
- Marriage: timing and what the 7th house and Venus suggest.
- Finances: periods that look better for saving, investing or big purchases.
- Current dasha: what the period you are running is likely to emphasise.
- Remedies: simple Vedic remedies linked to specific planets.
How do you read a birth chart?
A Vedic birth chart is drawn in one of two common formats. The North Indian chart is a square divided into diamond and triangle shapes, where the houses stay fixed (the top central diamond is always the first house) and the sign numbers move. The South Indian chart is a grid of twelve boxes where the signs stay fixed (Pisces is always top left) and the ascendant is marked with a line or "Asc". Once you know the format, reading begins with three steps. First, find the ascendant: it sets the first house, and the remaining houses follow in order. Second, note which planets sit in which houses and signs, and whether they are strong (exalted or in their own sign) or weak (debilitated). Third, find each house's lord, the planet ruling the sign on that house, and see where it is placed. From there, an astrologer adds aspects, yogas, divisional charts and the dasha periods. You can generate a free kundli to see your own chart in either style, and this guide to the 12 houses in Vedic astrology explains what each house covers.
